HUELGA DE TRES MIL OBREROS EN VENEZUELA

INTERNACIONAL. F/02309/038078. CARACAS, 23(PSI).- HUELGA DE TRES MIL OBREROS PARALIZA CAMPOS PETROLEROS DEL OESTE VENEZOLANO. Unos 3.000 trabajadores de las empresas contratadas por la estatal Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) iniciaron una huelga en el estado Zulia (noroeste), principal zona productora de crudo del país, por el incumplimiento de compromisos contractuales, informó el viernes la prensa local.

El paro comenzó esta semana y ya afecta a ocho muelles portuarios, a instalaciones de los campos petroleros y a algunos taladros de perforación que, debido a los recortes de la oferta establecidos por la Organización de Países Exportadores (OPEP), estaban sin funcionar desde diciembre.

PDVSA no se pronunció oficialmente hasta el momento sobre esta huelga y sus consecuencias.

"Estamos cansados de que PDVSA no pague sus deudas a los contratistas", declaró Rafael Zambrano, presidente de la Federación Única de Trabajadores Petroleros de Venezuela. Según el dirigente sindical, es la primera vez que patrones y obreros de estas contratistas se unen para reclamar y obligar a PDVSA que cumpla con el pago de sus deudas.

Zambrano, que citó cifras de la Cámara Petrolera Venezolana, aseguró que estas deudas suman unos 7,8 millones de dólares y afectan a 800 empresas que trabajan para la estatal.

El dirigente sindical advirtió que la huelga podría extenderse a otros campos e instalaciones venezolanas si no se solventa la demora en los pagos.- XXX
